Coffee & Art in Roma Norte: A Simple Walk That Turned Into a Great Day

Our Coffee & Art event in Roma Norte was meant to be something small: coffee, a walk, two galleries, and some good company. But like most Fight Club CDMX events, it turned into a day full of conversations, discoveries, and the kind of moments you don’t really plan — they just happen.

This one started with a fortune cookie. Everyone opened theirs when they arrived, and somehow it made the whole day feel lighter and more fun right from the beginning.

Starting With Coffee

We met at a little hidden coffee spot in Roma Norte. It wasn’t loud or crowded — just a calm place where people could talk without shouting over music. Everyone grabbed a drink, said their first hellos, and settled in. The energy was relaxed, not rushed.

It set the tone for the rest of the event: no pressure, no forced networking, no agenda other than enjoying the day.

First Stop: Local Jewelry

After a short walk, we arrived at our first stop — a small jewelry showcase by local designers. It was the kind of place you probably wouldn’t find on your own unless someone showed it to you.

People tried things on, asked the designers about their pieces, and talked about what they liked. Some bought something. Some didn’t. But everyone enjoyed the experience of seeing something handmade and different.

It was a nice reminder that Mexico City is full of hidden creative spaces, and you only need to slow down a bit to notice them.

Second Stop: Contemporary Gallery

Our next stop was a modern art gallery with colorful pieces and interesting installations. Nothing too formal or intimidating — just a good space to walk around, comment, laugh, and talk about what you liked (or didn’t like).

The art naturally sparked conversations. You didn’t need to be an art expert. You just needed to be curious. And that’s what made it work: people shared their thoughts freely, compared ideas, and connected in very simple, human ways.

Final Stop: Stay as Long as You Want

The last place on the route was a relaxed spot where participants could stay for as long as they wanted. Some grabbed drinks, others ordered snacks, and many stayed talking for hours.

There was no official ending. People left when they felt like it. And a good number stayed well past the scheduled time — which is always the best sign that an event worked.

Why This Event Felt Good

It was easy. That’s probably the best way to describe it.

  • No complicated schedule

  • No rushing from one place to another

  • No loud music

  • No pressure to “network”

  • No forced interactions

Just a group of people walking through a nice neighborhood, discovering local spots, and having real conversations.

Roma Norte helped, of course — the architecture, the colors, the streets full of personality. But the people made the event what it was: founders, creatives, newcomers to the city, travelers, and locals all mixing naturally.

Everyone came with an open attitude, and that’s what turned a simple Saturday walk into something memorable.

A Good Break From a Busy City

Sometimes you don’t need a huge event to have a good time.
Sometimes a slow walk, a cup of coffee, and a few interesting stops are enough.

That’s what this Coffee & Art experience was: a small break from the fast pace of Mexico City, shared with people who also wanted something different from the usual weekend.

Thanks to everyone who joined.
See you at the next one.
