FIGHT CLUB CDMX NETWORKING EVENT: 4 HOURS MEDIUM LEVEL
70 people. 15 dogs. Cold river water.
This wasn’t just a hike — it was proof that the best networking happens while walking side by side.
70 People, 15 Dogs & a River: What Happens When You Mix Hiking with Networking
✨ “The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.”
— A River Runs Through It
Last Saturday, something special happened.
Seventy people woke up early.
Fifteen dogs wagged their tails impatiently.
And all of us drove about 45 minutes outside Mexico City to step into the forest together.
This was RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT — the Fight Club CDMX Networking Hike.
And yes — there was a real river.
And yes — we crossed it. Multiple times.
It Wasn’t Just a Hike
Some hikes are about steps and calories.
This one was about flow.
From the first coffee between 8:30 and 9:00 AM, the energy felt different. No awkward name tags. No forced elevator pitches. No “so what do you do?” interrogation vibes.
Just people walking next to each other.
When you walk side by side instead of sitting across a table, something changes. Conversations feel easier. More honest. More relaxed.
By the second river crossing, strangers were already helping each other over rocks. By the third, people were laughing like old friends.
Why Hiking + Networking Just Works
Let’s be honest — traditional networking can feel exhausting.
Loud rooms.
Surface-level conversations.
Business cards that never turn into real relationships.
Hiking networking flips that completely.
Here’s why it works:
• Walking lowers social pressure — you talk naturally, without performance.
• Nature relaxes the nervous system — people open up faster.
• Shared experiences (like stepping into cold river water together) create instant bonding.
• Conversations last hours, not minutes.
• You leave feeling energized instead of drained.
When you spend 4–5 hours moving through a forest with someone, you skip the small talk. You get real, fast.
Ideas were exchanged mid-trail.
Collaborations were discussed between river crossings.
Friendships were formed over wet boots and shared snacks.
That doesn’t happen in a hotel ballroom.
And Then Came the Afterparty
Around 2 PM, we wrapped the hike and headed to the optional community afterparty.
Queso fundido.
Tacos.
Micheladas.
Café de olla.
By then, nobody was “networking” anymore. We were just… together.
The conversations were deeper. The laughs louder. The group tighter.
What Makes This Different?
It’s not just the river.
It’s not just the dogs (although 15 dogs definitely helped 🐕).
It’s the community.
And this needs to be said clearly:
The VIP Networking Community of FIGHT CLUB CDMX in Mexico City is something truly special.
It attracts people who are ambitious but grounded. Successful but kind. Curious, active, open.
There’s no ego competition.
No transactional energy.
No pretending.
FIGHT CLUB CDMX has built one of the most powerful and genuine VIP networking communities in Mexico City — and you can feel it the moment you show up.
When 70 adults wake up early on a Saturday to hike through rivers together, you know it’s not about “networking events.”
It’s about belonging.
A River Runs Through It
The water kept moving.
So did we.
And so will the connections that started that day.
Some people left with new friends.
Some with new business ideas.
Some with sore legs and very wet socks.
All of us left with more energy than we arrived with.
And that’s the point.
See you on the next trail.
