FIGHT CLUB CDMX NETWORKING EVENT: 4 HOURS MEDIUM LEVEL WITH RIVER CROSSING AND JUNGLE CLIMBING
HIKING NETWORKING: WHY THE BEST BUSINESS CONVERSATIONS DON'T HAPPEN IN A CONFERENCE ROOM
Most networking events happen in the same way.
A crowded room. Loud music. People holding drinks. The same small talk repeated 20 times.
"What do you do?"
"Where are you from?"
"Can I add you on LinkedIn?"
After a while, every conversation starts to feel the same.
That is exactly why we created Hiking Networking at FIGHT CLUB CDMX.
Last weekend, over 80 entrepreneurs, founders, professionals, creatives, investors, and adventurers joined us for our Hakuna Matata Jungle Networking Hike outside Mexico City.
And once again, it reminded us why some of the best connections happen far away from conference rooms.
Something Changes When People Walk Together
Walking side-by-side creates a completely different dynamic than standing face-to-face.
There is no pressure.
No spotlight.
No need to "perform."
People naturally relax, open up, and have deeper conversations.
By the time you've crossed a river together, helped someone over a slippery rock, or shared trail snacks halfway through the jungle, you've already built more trust than you might during an entire evening networking event.
Nature Removes the Pressure
One of the biggest challenges in networking is that people often arrive with expectations.
They want to impress.
They want to sell.
They want to be interesting.
But when you're surrounded by rivers, trees, mountains, and fresh air, those walls come down quickly.
The conversation becomes more human.
People talk about their projects, businesses, dreams, challenges, travels, and ideas naturally instead of forcing introductions.
The result?
Authentic relationships instead of transactional exchanges.
Shared Experiences Create Stronger Bonds
Psychologists have known for years that shared experiences accelerate connection.
At our Hakuna Matata hike, participants crossed rivers multiple times, climbed over rocks, explored jungle sections, laughed at unexpected moments, and supported each other along the trail.
These moments create stories.
And stories create relationships.
Weeks later, people may forget what was said during a networking cocktail event.
But they won't forget crossing a river together in the middle of a jungle.
Better Conversations Happen Over Hours, Not Minutes
Traditional networking often gives you five or ten minutes with someone.
A hiking networking event gives you hours.
You might spend thirty minutes talking with a startup founder, then another twenty minutes walking beside a corporate executive, and later discover a shared interest with someone from a completely different industry.
The conversations evolve naturally.
Without interruptions.
Without queues.
Without people constantly looking over your shoulder for the next person to meet.
You Leave Energized Instead of Exhausted
Many people leave traditional networking events feeling drained.
Too much noise.
Too many conversations.
Too much stimulation.
Hiking networking creates the opposite effect.
You get movement.
Fresh air.
Sunlight.
Nature.
Meaningful conversations.
A sense of accomplishment.
And usually a few funny stories as well.
By the end of the hike, participants aren't counting business cards.
They're planning future collaborations, coffee meetings, friendships, and adventures.
The Future of Networking Is More Human
At FIGHT CLUB CDMX, we believe networking should not feel like work.
It should feel like meeting interesting people while doing interesting things.
That's why we continue creating experiences that bring people together through movement, adventure, shared challenges, and memorable moments.
Because the strongest professional relationships rarely start with a sales pitch.
They start with a conversation.
Sometimes that conversation happens while crossing a river.
Sometimes it happens while climbing through the jungle.
And sometimes it happens over a Piña Colada served inside a pineapple after four hours of adventure.
Hakuna Matata.
See you on the next trail.
