FIGHT CLUB SPEED NETWORKING EVENT
Perfect Memories: What Happened at FIGHT CLUB CDMX’s Speed Networking Night in Polanco
“Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.” — L.M. Montgomery
Some evenings are planned.
Others become memories.
On Wednesday, August 12, FIGHT CLUB CDMX brought its community together in Polanco for a different kind of networking night: Perfect Memories Speed Networking.
The idea was simple.
Bring together interesting people in one room, give them a reason to talk to someone they had never met before, and remove the awkwardness that usually comes with networking.
What happened next was exactly why we keep doing this.
A Different Kind of Networking Night
Speed networking can sound intimidating.
Seven minutes. New person. New conversation. Repeat.
But the goal wasn't to collect as many LinkedIn connections as possible.
It was to have real conversations with people you would probably never meet otherwise.
Throughout the evening, participants rotated every 7–9 minutes, meeting founders, entrepreneurs, executives, investors, creatives, operators and international professionals from different industries and backgrounds.
Some conversations were about business.
Some were about Mexico.
Some were about moving countries, building companies, changing careers or starting something completely new.
And some simply started with:
“So, what do you do?”
That's the beauty of networking.
You never know where the conversation will go.
Polanco, Hidden in Plain Sight
For this edition, we chose a new venue in Polanco.
The location was intentionally kept secret until 24 hours before the event—one of the small traditions that makes FIGHT CLUB different from a conventional networking event.
When guests arrived, they found an intimate and atmospheric space rather than another conference room filled with name tags, presentation screens and rows of chairs.
There was no stage.
No long speeches.
No corporate PowerPoint.
Just people.
And that was exactly the point.
Sometimes the best networking happens when there is nothing between two people except a good conversation.
From Structured Networking to Real Connections
The evening began with arrivals, drinks and informal conversations.
Then came the main event: the speed networking rounds.
Every 7–9 minutes, participants changed partners.
For some, the first few conversations were easy.
For others, it took a couple of rounds to get into the rhythm.
But very quickly, the room changed.
People who had arrived not knowing anyone were suddenly exchanging ideas, discovering shared interests and finding unexpected connections.
And then, at 21:00, the structured part ended.
The networking didn't.
Guests stayed, continued conversations and finally had the opportunity to speak with people they hadn't met during the rotations.
This is often when the most interesting conversations happen.
Without a timer.
Without instructions.
Without knowing exactly where the evening is going.
An International Room in Mexico City
One of the things we love most about FIGHT CLUB CDMX is the international character of the community.
The event was conducted in English, with Spanish, French, Russian and German speakers also represented in the room.
Mexican and international professionals came together, creating the kind of mix that makes Mexico City such an exciting place to build relationships.
You could meet someone who had lived in Mexico for years.
Someone who had just arrived.
Someone building a company.
Someone working for a multinational.
Someone looking for their next business opportunity.
And someone who simply wanted to meet more interesting people in the city.
That's what a community should feel like.
Why We Call It FIGHT CLUB
FIGHT CLUB isn't just another networking event in Mexico City.
The name is intentional.
We're interested in people who are building something, changing something, challenging themselves or simply refusing to stay in the same place.
Our events are designed around people rather than presentations.
No endless panels.
No forced corporate introductions.
No collecting hundreds of business cards that you'll never look at again.
Instead, we create environments where conversations can happen naturally—and sometimes, those conversations lead somewhere completely unexpected.
Perfect Memories
The original inspiration for this event was a simple idea:
Some moments disappear almost immediately.
Others stay.
You remember the person you met.
The conversation you had.
The idea someone gave you.
The business opportunity you didn't expect.
The friend you didn't know you were going to make.
Maybe that's what networking is really about.
Not the number of people you meet.
But the people you remember.
And hopefully, the people who remember you.
Thank You, Polanco
To everyone who joined us for Perfect Memories Speed Networking Night—thank you.
Thank you for showing up, talking to strangers, asking questions, sharing your stories and making the evening what it became.
Events like this don't work because of a venue, a format or a schedule.
They work because people choose to participate.
And that's what makes the FIGHT CLUB CDMX community special.
One evening.
One room.
Dozens of conversations.
And hopefully, a few connections that will last much longer than the night itself.
Perfect Memories.
Speed Networking.
Conversations worth remembering.
See you at the next FIGHT CLUB CDMX event.
